Small positions, properly
Cent account brokers
On a cent account the balance is denominated in cents, so a $10 deposit shows as 1,000 and a standard lot moves a hundredth of what it would elsewhere. RoboForex offers one from 10 USD on MT4 and MT5, Alpari a Micro account from $30, and LiteFinance a cent account alongside its ECN and Classic ones.

The three cent accounts
The brokers we track that publish a cent or micro account. It is a different product from a low minimum deposit — the threshold says what a broker will accept, this says what the money can do.
| Broker | Account | To open | How it works | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RoboForex | ProCent | 10 USD / 10 EUR | Balance held in cents — 10 USD appears as 1,000 cents; spreads from 1.3 pips with no commission | Minimum order 0.1 lots on MT4 and 0.01 on MT5; account currencies USD, EUR and gold; 28 currency pairs, metals, crypto |
| Alpari | Micro | $30 | Micro lots on MT4, spreads from 1.5 pips with no commission | Leverage up to 1:500, margin call 50% and stop-out 20% |
| LiteFinance | Cent account | $50 on its published account types | Offered alongside ECN and Classic, aimed at trading in reduced volume | Terms published separately from the main account comparison |

What a cent account actually changes
The unit. On a standard account a 0.01-lot position on EUR/USD moves about ten cents per pip; on a cent account the same lot size moves a hundredth of that, because the balance and the position are both denominated in cents. A fifty-pip move that costs $5 on a standard micro position costs five cents here.
That is the whole product, and it solves a specific problem: learning on a live account without the tuition. Demo trading rehearses the platform but not execution or your own behaviour; a cent account rehearses both at a price that cannot hurt.
It is also how automated strategies get tested in real conditions. RoboForex presents its cent account exactly that way — the place to run advisors under real market conditions before committing capital.
Not the same thing as a low minimum deposit
A minimum deposit is an admission price. Several brokers will take $10 or $30 without offering anything that makes those sums workable, and the same $10 on a standard account buys margin for one position and no room for it to move.
The search behaviour reflects that difference: queries about cent accounts and queries about low deposits share no results at all, and eight independent publishers maintain dedicated pages for cent accounts specifically. People looking for this are not looking for a cheap entry — they are looking for a smaller unit.
Which is why the same brokers appear on both lists for different reasons. RoboForex is the cheapest entry here and also the most useful cent account, and those are two separate facts about it.
Where the limits are
Order size rules differ between platforms even at one broker: RoboForex's cent account takes a minimum of 0.1 lots on MetaTrader 4 and 0.01 on MetaTrader 5, which on a cent-denominated account are still small positions but not identical ones.
Costs do not shrink with the unit. Spread is charged in the account's currency, so it scales — but withdrawal minimums, payment fees and any inactivity charges are set in real money and can exceed what a cent account holds. Check them before deciding how much to fund.
And the leverage on offer is the same as everywhere else at these brokers: up to 1:2000 at RoboForex, 1:500 on Alpari's Micro account. A cent account makes a mistake cheap; it does not make an oversized position sensible.
Questions people ask
What is a cent account?
A trading account denominated in cents rather than dollars. A $10 deposit appears as a balance of 1,000, and ordinary lot sizes move a hundredth of the money they would on a standard account — which makes live trading affordable at a size where mistakes cost cents.
Which brokers offer cent accounts?
Of the nine we track: RoboForex with its ProCent account from 10 USD, Alpari with a Micro account from $30, and LiteFinance with a cent account alongside its ECN and Classic ones.
Is a cent account the same as a low minimum deposit?
No, and the two answer different questions. A minimum deposit is what the broker will accept; a cent account changes what that money can do. Searches for the two share no results, and independent publishers maintain separate pages for each.
Is a cent account better than a demo?
For the part a demo cannot teach, yes. Demo fills are simulated and demo losses cost nothing, so neither execution nor your own behaviour is tested. A cent account tests both with real money at a size that cannot do damage.
What are the drawbacks of a cent account?
Costs set in real money do not scale down: withdrawal minimums, payment fees and any inactivity charges can exceed the balance. Order-size rules also differ by platform — RoboForex requires 0.1 lots on MT4 against 0.01 on MT5.
Can I use expert advisors on a cent account?
Yes, and it is one of the main uses. RoboForex presents its cent account as the place to test advisors under real market conditions, which is the cheapest honest way to find out whether a robot survives live execution.
Getting the terminal itself is a different question — which version to download and where from. The full cost arithmetic for every account here is on what a trade actually costs, and a demo account The admission price, which is a different question, is compared on minimum deposit brokers, and what a first account needs beyond a small unit is on brokers for beginners.
