Forex trading apps in Nigeria
Read in the Nigerian storefront rather than the global average, the ranking rearranges itself: FxPro holds ★4.44 from 1,441 Nigerian ratings, Deriv ★3.52 from 54, Libertex ★2.67 from three, and RoboForex is not in the Nigerian App Store at all. The naira question is answered outside the app entirely.

The nine apps, read from the Nigerian stores
The third column is the Nigerian App Store specifically. Apple averages ratings per country, so an app with a strong global score can have three Nigerian ratings — and the table shows which. Google Play does not split by country and is marked global.
| Broker | App name | In the local App Store | Google Play (global) | How it takes money |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deriv | Deriv - Online Trading | 3.52 from 54 ratings | 4.3 from 4.68K reviews · 50,000,000+ | OnlineNaira, Airtel, MTN |
| Libertex | Libertex: Trading & Investing | 2.67 from 3 ratings | 4.2 from 81.9K reviews · 10,000,000+ | Cards, bank, e-wallets |
| RoboForex | MobileTrader FX Trading Online | Not in this country's App Store | 4.0 from 17.3K reviews · 1,000,000+ | Cards, bank, e-wallets |
| Bybit | Bybit: Buy Crypto & Bitcoin | 4.55 from 61,269 ratings | 4.6 from 1.42M reviews · 10,000,000+ | Crypto rails |
| Fortrade | Fortrade Pro | Listed, no ratings yet | 4.9 from 2.78K reviews · 1,000,000+ | Cards and bank wire |
| Alpari | Alpari: Investment Trading App | 5 from 2 ratings | 4.0 from 713 reviews · 500,000+ | Not stated on pages we could capture |

App Store figures read per country storefront through Apple's own lookup, and Google Play from its listing pages, on 24 August 2026. Play ratings are not split by country, so that column is global. Payment methods come from each broker's own pages.
The Nigerian numbers are not the numbers you were shown
Apple averages App Store ratings per country. FxPro is ★4.44 from 1,441 ratings in Nigeria and ★4.56 from 438 in Kenya; Deriv is ★3.52 from 54 in Nigeria and ★4.45 from 31 in Kenya. Same apps, different populations, different results.
Nigeria is one of the larger storefronts in this set, which makes the local figures unusually meaningful here — 1,441 Nigerian ratings say more about the experience in Lagos than a global average dominated by Europe.
Google Play aggregates across countries, so that column is the same wherever it is read. Keeping the two apart is the whole point of the table: averaging them produces a number that describes nobody.
What is and is not in the Nigerian store
RoboForex's app, published as MobileTrader, is listed in the UK, South Africa, the UAE and Singapore — not Nigeria. Everything else in the table appears in the Nigerian storefront, though several have collected only a handful of ratings there.
Tickmill Trader and Fortrade Pro are both present in Nigeria while being absent from Kenya, which is a good reminder that these decisions are made country by country by the publisher rather than by the region.
On Android the picture is simpler: all nine are on Google Play, listed globally, with installs running from 10,000 for Tickmill to 10 million for Libertex and FxPro and 50 million for Deriv.
Naira, and what the app has to do with it
Nothing, directly — the account currency is set by the broker, not the interface. Of the nine, FxPro publishes NGN among its wallet and trading-account currencies, subject to jurisdiction; the others quote dollars.
Funding is the same story. Deriv publishes Nigerian rails — OnlineNaira plus Airtel and MTN mobile money — into dollar accounts; the rest route you through cards, which is the step most likely to be declined by a Nigerian issuer on a cross-border transaction.
So the sequence that saves time is: pick the funding route first, confirm the account currency, then install whichever app that broker publishes. Our Nigeria page works through both in detail.
No app store rating is a licence
Nigeria has no licence category for retail forex brokers — the SEC's register of capital market operators covers brokers/dealers, fund managers, issuing houses and registrars, and nothing resembling a CFD provider. So the regulator behind your account is foreign by definition.
Which one it is appears in the client agreement, not in the store listing. The publisher name in the App Store is occasionally a clue — Deriv's iOS app is published by Deriv Investments (Europe) Ltd, RoboForex's by RoboForex (CY) Ltd — but the entity that holds your account is decided at signup by your country of residence.
An app with a high rating and an unregistered counterparty is a well-made way to lose money. Check the entity, then the app.
Questions people ask
Which forex trading app is best in Nigeria?
By Nigerian App Store ratings, MetaTrader 5 leads at ★4.67 from 22,753 ratings, and among broker apps FxPro holds ★4.44 from 1,441. Deriv is ★3.52 from 54. Ratings describe the software, not the spreads, the licence or the funding.
Which apps support naira?
The account currency is the broker's decision, not the app's. FxPro lists NGN among its wallet and trading-account currencies subject to jurisdiction; the rest quote dollars, and Deriv publishes Nigerian payment rails into dollar accounts instead.
Why is RoboForex missing from the Nigerian App Store?
Its iOS app, published as MobileTrader, is listed in the UK, South African, UAE and Singaporean storefronts only. It is on Google Play, which is not split by country, so Android users are unaffected.
Are trading apps legal in Nigeria?
Trading is legal, and no Nigerian licence exists for retail forex brokers — the SEC's register has no such category. That makes the entity in your client agreement, and the foreign regulator behind it, the thing to check.
Do I need MetaTrader as well as the broker's app?
Often, yes. The broker's app handles registration, verification and funding; MetaTrader or cTrader handles charts, orders and automated strategies on the same account. Seven of the nine brokers here run MetaTrader.
